S01E01 - Theodor Beutel

“If you then have this thought of open source and forks, where you can just fork a project if you don’t really agree with certain details, that’s something people are not really aware of, really not familiar with. So this whole line of thinking requires quite a change.”

For years, Theodor Beutel, or Theo, has been conducting academic investigations in the fields of social sciences and business. In trying to understand the next steps of the firm, he came across blockchain technology and DAOs, which have since become his focus of study as a MSc student at The University of Edinburg.

Tune in to hear about how Academia is reacting to the world of decentralized governance, how existing structures and models for human coordination compare to the ones emerging out of the blockchain space, how Agent-based modeling can aid in the design of governance protocols, and more.
